Hispella testacea
Hispella testacea belong to the family leaf beetles (Chrysomelidae). They are about 4 - 5 mm in length and brown to dark brown in colour. The elytra and pronotum are covered with spines. They look like little hedgehogs.

You can find this species on the internet under the name of Hispa testacea. The slightly smaller Hispa atra is a close relative of Hispella testacea. All these photographs were taken on the Costa Brava in Spain.
