The abdomen is almost completely covered by the transparent hind wings, and in some specimens there are several black spots on the sides of the abdomen, which run lengthwise.

The hind wings are darker than the forewings. The head is bright reddish-brown and bears black compound eyes. The males have heavily feathered antennae.
