The underside of the forewings is divided by a dark, brown, wavy line, and the colouration and markings are darker and more striking than on the upper surface. The wing veins in the lower area are clearly visible and marked with dark scales. There are long fringes on the forewings.
>> Moths & Butterflies -> Moths -> Actenia brunnealis

The area between the eyes is whitish-yellow or yellow and is broken up by a grey-yellow central line. The compound eyes are positioned at a distance to each other. In the males this distance is just wear slightly smaller.
>> Flies -> Hoverflies -> Helophilus trivittatus
...ales look for pre-existing nests from other digger wasps. In the latter case they are not able to distinguish between already occupied and unoccupied nests, which often leads to violent clashes between them and the owners of the nest in the entrance area. The female digs a nest at which the excavated sand or clay is piled around the entrance.
